Reminisce with me

I realized today that it is closing in on 2the9s six month anniversary. It was October 10, 2009 that I babysat my friend Sinda's booth at the local Farmers Market. I brought along my first shirt design: the Original One Bud in gray to feel out people's reaction to it. Six months later, I've had about fifty sales, done my first online advertisement, got my etsy shop up, and am jumping into the fabulous world of fashion blogging. Here are a few photos of the journey:

A big "thank you" to everyone for making this possible! I am finalizing the details of my first giveaway to celebrate. Check back, April 10th for all the info.

April updates

Well, April is starting off with a bang! I feel like a lot has happened for my little "shop" in a very short amount of time.

First off: A big Thank you to Elaine for contacting me about advertising on her amazing blog. The ad went up April 1st. Be sure to stop by clothedmuch to check it out. (Also, check out her review of my Elizabethan T and let me know what you think.)

My ad design was done by Elizabeth Conrad from the Irresistible Photography team. Elizabeth has done all my design work -- she has amazing talent and is wonderful to work with.
Thanks to both these talented women!

Next big news: 2the9s turquoise shoe clips have been asked to be a part of a big photo shoot in Southern California. I was incredibly flattered when Courtney of Joyful Weddings contacted me about using the clips. These clips are one of my favorite products. I use a stiff home decor taffeta along with a more flimsy drapery fabric to make them. I love how the contrast between the two fabrics gives such a great shape and texture to the clips. So, it was wonderful to have someone with such great style appreciate them. I will post more about the shoot as things progress.

I actually owe another thanks to Elaine and Elizabeth for opening my eyes a little more to what blogging can be. Now that my Etsy shop is up and running I am excited about my blog becoming a place where I can share a little more insight into who I am and why I create. Check back soon and let me know what you think.

side note

I haven't gotten super personal on this blog, but I can't hold this in any longer: I hate being my own model. I really don't know how models pull all those amazing "I'm not trying" faces. My patient husband spends hours trying to capture each picture the way I want. Then I look at them all and its: I look drugged, I look confused, I look angry, yeah no good faces. Well, at least the clothes look amazing:).

p.s. shirt is the new take on the Ruffle T -- be sure to check it out in my Etsy shop (link is to the right).

little and Big

I began creating some new girls Spring designs this week. I loved adding to this perfect spring green vintage dress. A one-of-a-kind creation currently at the Flower Basket.

Also this week I did a new Big twist on the fabric bloom clip. Let me know what you think.

Spring Blooms

New, new, new for Spring! New fabrics, new colors, new designs and a great new product: shoe clips. Shoe clips are like clip-on earrings for your shoes. The clips are small, flat and smooth so they don't disturb your feet at all. I am in love with how versatile they are. They are great for hair, headbands, jacket, shirts, jewelry and of course shoes. Available at the Flower Basket Boutique in Provo and my Etsy shop. As always, I love doing custom orders. If you like what you see but want to discuss different size or color, email me at 2the9s.shop@gmail.com.

Welcome Spring

With so many sunny days recently, I couldn't resist the chance to upgrade this great sunshine yellow vintage dress. A one of a kind piece that is currently on display in the front window of the Flower Basket Boutique in Provo. Thank you Macie -- seeing it all lit up and part of your beautiful display made my week.

Coming in the next week: great floral shoe clips and a new twist on the ruffle T, check back soon!

The approaching holiday provided me with inspiration to create some great new designs. Valentines Day always makes me want to be soft, pink, ruffly and girly -- like the old Victorian Valentines cards. I love how the new designs turned out. Versatile enough to dress up or pair with your favorite jeans, whatever your plans these shirts are sure to make you feel beautiful for Valentines. Hope you enjoy!
